She began her career as a dancer and choreographer, performing on Broadway and in Las Vegas. Her breakthrough role came in 1982 as Valeria in the film Conan the Barbarian, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger. This role showcased her athleticism and fighting skills.

Bergman continued to act in various film and television projects, including She (1985), Red Sonja (1985) with Brigitte Nielsen, and Kandisha (2008). She has also made guest appearances on television shows such as Falcon Crest and Highlander: The Series. She is also known for her work in the 1981 musical film Xanadu.
